手外科醫學會監事、高雄榮總骨病科主任陳俊宇表示，陳俊宇表示，上述27歲健美先生，原是在健身房與人比腕力，雙方都使勁要壓制對方，在難分勝負之際，突然間一聲清脆聲響，他的右上臂斷了，這時他也感受到劇痛，隨即以左手扶著這支癱了的右手，趕赴急診就醫。

陳俊宇表示，人的上臂主要是由肱骨支撐，比腕力造成的肱骨骨折，通常會因為瞬間扭轉的力量呈現「螺旋狀骨折」，骨折範圍可達5至7公分以上，肱骨周圍有條重要神經「橈神經」，原本是像攀龍柱般，肱骨瞬間被扭斷，橈神經同時也可能被斷骨切面割傷，或捲入斷骨處，患者除遭受骨折外，也時而會合併垂指（無法伸直手指）或垂腕（無法抬起手腕）等神經受損病況。

陳俊宇表示，這名健美先生隨即被送進開刀房，掏出捲入的橈神經，並以骨板與骨釘固定斷裂的右上臂肱骨，約2個月後手指與手腕恢復功能，骨折處則約經過半年才長好。

陳俊宇表示，比腕力造成的右上臂肱骨骨折，並不罕見，以高雄榮總而言，約1、2年就會收治一例，年齡層從10幾歲中學生到20幾歲大學生、軍人或上班族都有，清一色是男生，這類比腕力造成的肱骨骨折，就像擰毛巾般，骨折的那隻手呈現扭曲變形，「模樣駭人」。
