新竹縣國小四年級女學童「華華」，患有異位性皮膚炎，手腳關節處時常乾癢難耐，總是抓不停，乾反覆發作也抓破傷口，甚至流湯，擦藥也壓不住搔癢，直到傷口惡化成蜂窩性組織炎，到竹北市東元醫院住院3天治療傷口，口服抗生素搭配使用生物製劑，來緩解皮膚乾癢症狀，需要長期藥物治療及用乳液保濕，做好肌膚屏障。

皮膚科主治醫師王宣甯指出，異位性皮膚炎是體內免疫系統失調混亂的一種體質，常常跟過敏性鼻炎、氣喘一起出現，許多研究認為7歲前是異位性皮膚炎的好發年齡，有些病人會隨著免疫力系統成熟慢慢好起來，但有些人的症狀則會一直持續到成年。

異位性皮膚炎的誘發因素很多，目前仍然缺乏根治異位性皮膚炎的藥物，但已經有許多藥物，包括免疫調節劑等能夠幫助患者控制症狀，避免影響日常生活。

王宣甯提醒，異位性皮膚炎患者本身皮膚的屏障功能就不好，建議家長要特別幫小朋友留意，洗澡的水溫不要太燙，泡澡不要超過5到10分鐘，在洗澡後確實地擦乳液，幫助皮膚保溼並提高皮膚的屏障功能，特別是當皮膚已經乾燥到出現苔蘚化紋路時，乳液使用更形重要。

異位性皮膚炎的治療有很多種，對輕度患者的標準治療是外用類固醇藥膏和擦保濕乳液，家長最擔心擦類固醇會不會有副作用？事實上，如有根據病患狀況及患部去挑選適合的藥物強度、質地和給藥天數，其實不用太擔心。
